Every 8 year old should have this birthday cake (The Domestic Rebel). For my 8th birthday, my mom made me a special Oreo cake with cookies and cream frosting. Her oil-painter-friend made me a tie-dye cake that was all swirly inside. Two really cool cakes. One really awesome birthday. I think baking and gifting a cake is one of the best ways to show someone you think they are awesome, that they smell nice or that you just really love them.
If you need some cake inspiration see below (No. They aren’t all “healthy” but that doesn’t mean they aren’t good for the soul! Plus, all it takes is a little creativity and practice to tweak a recipe to your liking. For me that normally means switching to almond or coconut flour and replacing or cutting the sugar content).
I have “pinned” (never thought I would say that. Hold on.) most of these to keep them filed away for special days. I think my name on Pinterest is just, “Jessica Umble.” But I’m not 100% positive. I’ll look into it. I do know that I am @weirdamphibians on Twitter . . . which for some reason is really hard for me to figure out. Anyways, scroll below and enjoy!!
